Leadership

How would you describe your leadership style on the field at practices and games and in the dugout?

Whenever I am on the baseball field, I try to be the most known out there. Whether it is yelling how many outs there are or talking to the pitcher, I want to be heard all around the field. Playing in the middle infield gives me the responsibility of being a leader, so I try my best with keeping everyone in the game, ready for the next pitch. Also, I always try to keep a happy and positive attitude throughout the game so I can create a loose and calm environment for everyone on the team..

Success

What do you think makes you successful on the ball field?

One of my major strengths when I play is having a short memory. Whenever anything does not go my way, I let it go, and move on to the next play. Keeping a short memory allows me to focus on the next task at hand so I can concentrate on giving my best effort, no matter the result.

Stand Out

When coaches come watch you what is something you want to stand out about your play?

The one thing that I believe that makes me different from everyone else is my effort and hustle. During any drill at practice, I always go 110%, trying to improve my game on either small details or large ones. When the team runs bases after practice, I try to catch the person in front of me, wanting to pass them on our way to the next base.

Inspiration

Nick, every day you come out your hustle and set a great example, who or what is your inspiration?

The person that inspires me the most is my brother. He always pushes me to do the best I can, and I would not be at the level I am today without him. I am lucky enough to have him on the same team as me, so whenever we are working out or practicing, we push each other to our limits, exceeding our expectations of one another.

Coaches Corner

Coach Pashales - Nevada Sports Academy Executive Director

Nick is a coachâ??s dream. He takes instruction and applies it to his game. He Leads and sets a great example for all the players. And on the field Nick is always having fun competing and always has a smile on his face. Mechanically his swing is compact and is short and quick to the ball. Nick is able to drive the ball to all fields and adjust well. Can play outfield and track the ball but can pick it in the middle infield. One of most under rated players in the state Nick is a standout middle infielder who is quick and athletic. We are proud to have Nick Morrison represent NSA as our Player of the Week.
